How do you control a large democracy, when you have 60% of the wealth, but you represent only 5% of the population. In a democracy, this should not be possible. Afterall, the “majority” of the population can, and has historically, passed both income taxes (just a few years ago taxing the super rich at 70% of their income) and property taxes (which are skewed to impact the wealthy). This should be easy to comprehend. Let the other 95% pass laws, taxes and programs which re-distribute wealth to achieve a healthy and improving standard of living.

The problem has been historically, even the most questionable politicians were vetted and found to have high character and an unblemished resume. Even the hint of defect has caused many of local, state and federal politicians to resign their pursuit of political leadership. Furthermore, thanks largely to the Civil Service Reform Act of 1883, which helped defined modern public administration.

Fast forward to today, whereas billionaires financed a 2024 campaign whereas through media, advertisement and dark money have financed a campaign of lies, deceit and mis-direction. They targeted the least educated and most impoverished segments of society to do their bidding. They targeted a poorer and whiter segments of society which were bitter with their lives. This was designed, as these peoples were the most vulnerable to a grievance and mis-information campaign.

End result was profound. By killing off democratic leadership, the bought and paid for Republicans are about to suspend the checks and balances in government to reduce taxes for the rich, to reduce regulation standing in the way of profit, and to ensure a low cost labor force has no safety net … forcing them to slave away at minimum wages.
